Hello all,
I did what I always thought was impossible: I published my book. It wasn't as challenging as I thought it was going to be. CreateSpace has helpful forums and guidance to help make the process easier. It also offers advice for marketing your book.
Completing your first novel is a dream come true, at least it was for me. I've always loved reading and am finally taking a swing at creating a world for others to enjoy as much as I do.
I remember writing it and pushing through to complete it. I got the idea from a dream I had one night. I recall waking up thinking: this would make a great story.
That day, I started writing it. I wrote a good fifty or more pages in the first day because I was so excited. The first copy I wrote wasn't too great because things didn't flow and I had to step away from it for a few months before editting it.
Throughout the process, I had the support from my Gran and my mom. There support and feedback is what kept me writing. I've always dreamed of the day when I could hand them a completed novel instead of printed pages from Microsoft Word. I ordered my books today, so I'm eager for their arrival. Butterflies are having babies in my stomach at the mere thought of their reaction. It's going to be a nice surprise.
I'm happy to have their support, but I still fear the feedback from others. Will it be a huge hit? Will anybody even read it? What if they don't? Will I still feel as accomplished then as I do now?
I guess these answers will only come with time. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for my novel.
Signing off until next time,
Bethany
